Project Overview

Leaven Kids is a nonprofit that runs free afterschool learning centers in low-income, high-crime neighborhoods, providing children with a safe, supportive, and fun environment while their parents are at work.

To support their mission, the fundraising team launched Kids Club—a donor sponsorship program that covers the cost for a child to attend. They needed a logo for the program that aligned with the existing Leaven Kids brand.

Initially, the client wanted to incorporate the original Leaven Kids logo directly into the new design. However, through multiple iterations, we developed a standalone Kids Club logo that complements the parent brand while maintaining its own identity. I matched the typeface to the original logo for consistency and softened the letterforms to create a more playful, child-friendly feel. I created both a stacked and horizontal version of the logo to ensure flexibility across different use cases.
